Hello,
I am so glad you are reading this letter and I’m so sorry that things feel so tough right now.
I think one of the bravest thing a human can do, is to keep going even when it feels impossible. If you are reading this letter then you are one of the bravest people I know. And to be brave is a hard thing but it’s worth it, I promise.
I am writing this letter not just as someone who has been where you are, but still finds themselves there at times. I know how heavy life feels, I know how painful that is and I know how exhausting it can be. Please know that even when it feels like darkness is clouding your head, that there will be light. There will be a moment when the darkness clears. There are moments of joy that exist and you are deserving of that.
You have so much worth. I often found the phrase ‘ one day at a time’ hard, because for me doing a day sometimes felt overwhelming in itself. So I changed it to be in my head, ‘ One minute, one second at a time’.
And every second, every minute that went by was another victory.
I want to end with this: one of my favourite books is ‘The boy the mole the fox and the horse’ by Charlie Mackesy (if you haven’t read it you should). One of the best quotes is:
“Always remember you matter, you’re important and you are loved, and you bring to this world things no one else can.”
Please hold on to that today.
Love,
Jess x
